Job Description

Avion is a strategy and innovation firm committed to accelerating science- and technology-led transformation across global markets. The firm is seeking a Product & Innovation Manager to lead the design, development, and deployment of high-impact products and commercialization strategies in emerging sectors. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, innovation management, and go-to-market execution—supporting projects in biotechnology, AI, energy, and frontier markets.

The Product & Innovation Manager will work cross-functionally with internal teams, founders, engineers, researchers, and client partners to translate early-stage concepts into scalable offerings. This includes designing product roadmaps, defining technical and market requirements, coordinating pilot execution, and shaping commercialization pathways that align with investment, regulatory, and customer dynamics.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in product development, innovation frameworks, and commercialization strategy—alongside a track record of navigating ambiguity and accelerating traction across complex stakeholder environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product strategy across innovation and commercialization engagements
  • Develop and manage roadmaps for products and platforms in biotech, health, energy, and digital infrastructure
  • Define and validate product requirements through research, stakeholder engagement, and market analysis
  • Align product development with technical feasibility, regulatory pathways, and user-centered design principles
  • Coordinate pilots and MVP deployments across strategic partners, clients, or academic collaborators
  • Collaborate with strategy, engineering, and investment teams to support execution and market readiness
  • Contribute to IP development, commercialization modeling, and innovation ecosystem design
  • Prepare investor decks, product briefs, and GTM assets tailored to commercialization objectives

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Innovation, or a related technical or scientific discipline
  • 6–10 years of experience in product management, innovation strategy, or technology commercialization
  • Experience working with R&D teams, academic spinouts, or venture-backed startups
  • Strong grasp of customer discovery, agile development, and early-stage go-to-market execution
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance processes across biotech, digital health, or energy sectors
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical insight into commercial narratives
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Miro, Notion, Airtable, and project management platforms
